Our donations will be used to support people facing genuine hardship and to fund carefully considered charitable projects.
Our first work begins in Balawal, Kashmir, Pakistan, with the intention, Insha'Allah, of supporting other communities as the Foundation develops.
Before committing significant funds, we aim to understand the need, consider the most appropriate form of support and establish how the work can be delivered responsibly.
We do not want to fund projects simply because they look impressive. The need must come first.
Every Donation Deserves Care
Our priority is to direct donations towards genuine charitable need while keeping unnecessary costs as low as reasonably possible.
Where legitimate costs are necessary to deliver charitable work safely and effectively, we will aim to account for them appropriately.
As Uzma's Foundation develops, further financial information and relevant policies will be published here.
Our intention is to be as open as possible about how donations are used and the impact they create.
Speak with people locally and understand the real need.
Consider who will benefit, the cost and whether the solution is appropriate.
Agree how the project will be delivered and who will be responsible locally.
Use donations carefully to carry out the agreed work.
Share appropriate evidence, expenditure and progress with our supporters.
Helping People Without Exploiting Their Hardship
Accountability is important, but so is dignity. People should never have to surrender their privacy or dignity simply because they need help.
Where photographs, videos or personal stories are shared, we will aim to obtain appropriate permission and consider carefully whether publishing them is respectful.
In some circumstances, we may show what was provided without identifying the person or family who received it.
A person's hardship should never become our advertisement.
From Intention to Impact
As projects begin, supporters should be able to follow their progress. For significant projects, we intend to publish appropriate information including:
We are at the beginning of this journey, so there may initially be little information to display.
We will never create false progress simply to make the Foundation appear more established than it is.
Honesty. Dignity. Responsibility.
Uzma was known for helping people quietly, without seeking recognition.
We want the Foundation carrying her name to approach charitable work with that same sincerity.
We cannot promise that everything will always be perfect.
What we can promise is that we will aim to act responsibly, learn as we grow, correct mistakes where they occur and remain accountable to the people who place their trust in us.
Honesty. Dignity. Responsibility.
These principles will guide how Uzma's Foundation grows.
If you would like to ask about a donation, project or how funds are being used, please contact us. Questions about our work are welcome.
We will continue to strive for transparency in everything we do, in the hope of earning your trust and using it to change lives.
Support our first project and help create meaningful change in the lives of those who need it most.
